A labor of love
A jazzman at heart, Danish tenor saxophonist Jakob Dinesen has always admired other great players. Jazz drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts, in particular, has been a source of inspiration and awe to Dinesen. So when three of Dino’s friends arranged for him to fly to New York and not only meet Jeff “Tain” Watts but also to play and record with him, what could the result possibly be other than Unconditional Love? (When we asked him why he had chosen that title, he said something about his children. Go figure.)
We came up with a series of proposals for how to illustrate Unconditional Love. The final one is the simplest, the purest. It’s also unlike any jazz cover we have ever seen.
Done in collaboration with Jakob Dinesen, Thomas Busch and Henrik Juul.
