How shorthand was invented
Den Korte began as Den Korte Radioavis (The Short News), one of the most popular shows on Radio24syv. When the radio station was closed down, Senior Correspondent Kirsten Birgit Schiøtz Kretz Hørsholm and News Editor Rasmus Bruun decided to take their gig to the stage, and we shortened the already short ruler that had represented their show.
Around the same time we realized that whenever we talked about Den Korte, we would invariably hold up two fingers to indicate the tiny length of it. And so we had Kirsten Birgit include the shorthand symbol as well.
