Dacapo Records works to support the Danish music scene and promote its composers abroad. It is the national label for classical and contemporary music, supported by the Danish Arts Foundation. At Dacapo, they strive to release albums of the highest quality. That’s why they collaborate not only with the best Danish and Nordic artists but also with international ensembles such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, Lapland Chamber Orchestra and the Kronos Quartet. They have also chosen to work with Studio Tobias Røder. Over the years, we have designed the Dacapo logo as well as countless of their album covers.

In honor of a musical pioneer

To celebrate Denmark’s grandmother of electronic music, Dacapo decided to publish the complete recordings of Else Marie Pade. EMP, as she sometimes called herself, was a groundbreaking composer of electronic and concrete music whose sound continues to inspire new generations of musicians. A pioneer in more ways than one, EMP invented her own system of musical notation as well as some wonderfully weird instruments, and many of these visual delights made their way to the 20 album covers we designed for the series.
