Joining the Resistance
The daily paper Information began as an illegal news agency, founded by the Resistance, in 1943. As such, has a unique heritage — and, with it, a unique responsibility. It is forged in battle, born out of the belief that truth and free speech are at the very heart of a free and just society. The new tagline — Modstand siden 1943 (Resistance since 1943) — reflects the newspaper’s singular and strong history, unmatched in the Danish media world.

To prepare Information for the digital age, where more and more readers get their news on a screen, we gently updated the logo, removing the shadows.
Information is primarily a daily paper, but they also publish books, do podcasts, and host events. So we decided to use the iconic red dot as their shorthand symbol across all activities.
Its strong history has never stopped Information from embracing the future. Despite being known, loved, and loathed for its long-reads, Information was the first major Danish daily to transition from broadsheet to compact format, in 2004. We did the editorial design.
An example of the 5 column grid in action: It benefits editorial content and advertisers alike, with the blank space signaling the newspaper’s independence of commercial interests while making even smaller ads stand out.
